Pyramid Butterfly - Yellow - Widespread West to central Pacific. Usually found along clear coastal to outer reef walls. Schooling planktivore, often feeding in very large schools in current channels between reefs. Feeds on zooplankton at various depths. Sometimes the large schools are spread over a broad depth over a broad depth range, anywhere from surface to about 60m depth. Readily identified by its unusual colouration of a white and yellow-orange body and tail, and a dark to almost black head. Length to 18cm.
