Exo-Terra Thermostat 600w with Day/Night Timer- Dimming Pulse Proportional thermostats can be used with heat mats, heat cables, ceramic heaters AND incandescent heat bulbs unlike the smaller wattage On/Off thermostats! Before purchase make sure this will be suitable for your heat source.
Can control heating devices up to 600w (300w per socket). This actually has two sockets to plug in two different heat sources, one to be controlled during the day time and one to be controlled during the night-time. Each heating device can be up to 300w.
Thermostats are vital pieces of equipment for any reptile keeper, as they help to prevent overheating and undercooling during hot summer days or cold winter nights.
The Dimming & Pulse Proportional function keeps the temperature at the desired set-point with a much higher accuracy than conventional thermostats and virtually eliminates temperature swings in the terrarium.
Daytime and night-time temperatures can be set individually using the two different sockets, for example you can plug an incandescent heat bulb into the day time socket and a heat mat into the night-time socket, making them perfect for desert reptiles where temperatures usually fall at night in their natural habitat, and you prefer a light source during the day and a non light source of heat at night.
Simply connect your Heat Mat, Heat Cable, Ceramic Heater or Incandescent Heat Bulb to the Exo Terra Day/Night Thermostat, using the correctly labelled socket, set the preferred daytime and night-time temperatures and place the heat sensor in the desired spot.
The Exo Terra Thermostat should be set according to the needs of the animals so always thoroughly research the preferred optimum temperature range (POTR) for your specific reptile, so you can create the correct temperature gradients inside the terrarium to allow your reptiles to thermoregulate. Always use a Thermometer to monitor the temperature inside your terrarium and adjust the Exo Terra Thermostat according to the required temperature range for your pet's environment.
